Pitching instructor Bob Zimmermann hails from St. Louis, Missouri where he was a standout pitcher for DeSmet High School. At DeSmet, Zimmermann earned himself a scholarship to Southwest Missouri State (now Missouri State). Also at DeSmet, he was selected in the 14th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Colorado Rockies. Although drafted, he chose to attend Southwest Missouri State to further his education and continue his baseball development.
At Southwest Missouri State, Bob made an immediate impact for the Bears. Zimmermann won Missouri Valley Freshman of the Year in 2000 and was a first-team All-Conference selection. After his freshman year, he was elected to be a member of the USA National Team in 2001 and 2002. Along with this, Zimmermann was named to the Freshman All-American team in 2001. In 2003, Zimmermann took his game to the biggest stage in college sport when he led his team to the College World Series. He was selected to the All-Region team and also named the MVP of the Nebraska regional.
Following a very successful college career, Zimmermann was drafted in the 4th round by the Anaheim Angels. With the Angels, Zimmermann advanced to Double-A then spent time with the New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Toronto Blue Jays organization.
In 2009 he continued his chase for his dream with the York Revolution Atlantic League and Long Island Ducks from 2011-2014.
From 2013 to 2014, Zimmermann served as the pitching coach at NCAA Division II Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri.
As an instructor, Zimmermann has a unique talent in being able to specialize in mechanics, arm-care, velocity, mentality, and injury prevention. He has specialized in youth training and instruction in St. Louis, Missouri, Springfield, Missouri, and Chicago, Illinois. Zimmermann has done private individual instruction, classes, group instruction, and also has a Velocity Program with great success. His success is warranted by numerous athletes that have gone on to play at the college and professional level.
